Before departing, it is recommended to contact your property manager to determine what they provide.
- Bug spray
- Sun screen
- Offline maps on your phone
- The island can be difficult to navigate at night, and most cell phone providers' coverage is spotty on the island.
- Food
- While there are a number of restaurants on the island, they can run out of food and are not open on specific days. No restaurant currently serves breakfast. Plan ahead.
- Limited groceries are available on the island, but selection is limited. Purchasing food before coming to Daufuskie is strongly recommended.
- Casual clothing
- Packing light is recommended. Many rentals include washers and dryers.
- Rain gear
- Beach towels
- Medications
- Flashlights. If you are coming during turtle season, red light covers are needed at night if you intend to use them on the beach.
What should I not bring?
- Bottled water
- The water on the island is perfectly drinkable, so bringing water is an unnecessary, bulky item that is a burden for the ferry staff to carry.
