The public ferry is available to visitors and residents alike. The ferry departs on the mainland from C.C. Haigh Boat Landing (2 William Hilton Pkwy, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926), across the 278 Bridge heading in to Hilton Head Island which is the first right after on the bridge going towards Hilton Head. The ferry arrives and departs on Daufuskie from Melrose Landing (50 Melrose Landing Rd, Daufuskie Island, SC 29915).

Transit time may be between an hour and an hour and a half.
