	Individuals who want to obtain a Daufuskie Island resident ID card (now referred to by the county as a QDR card) should apply to get one using the [https://www.beaufortcountysc.gov/daufuskie-ferry-id-application.html online application]. We have been informed that the current ferry provider will no longer be accepting old ID cards past April 30, 2024, and those without a new card will pay the full fare. 	The county has further indicated that "...to receive your new QDR Card, accounts with past due balances on their Palmetto Breeze account must be settled in full. Amounts with positive balances will be transferred to their new Lowcountry Ferry rider account once you have been issued a new QDR. This will enable you to continue enjoying discounted ferry services as a Daufuskie Island Resident."
